- The Auction House
-
-
What is an online auction house? An online auction house is a website/platform that allows bidders to purchase goods through a competitive online auction sale. Online auction sale permits the user identified as the highest bidder to ‘win’ the goods on sale. Gobid.it is specifically enabled in this activity as in accordance to art.107 L.F., and operates in support of official receivers and professionals who have been entrusted by court authorities with the task of putting on sale goods deriving from bankruptcy/insolvency proceedings.
-
How does an online auction work and in what way does it differ from a private bid of sale? An online auction must kick off from a basic starting price and through bid increments permits goods on sale to reach a certain final price within a fixed deadline as opposed to the private bid of sale which is not subject to deadlines or bid increments.
-
What is a judicial sale? A judicial sale is a specific court activity resulting in the forced sale of goods/assets for the purpose of obtaining sufficient liquidity to be able to refund, in part or wholly, the general body of creditors. Liquidation of bankruptcy assets shall be carried out as in compliance with Art. 107 L.F., which provides the official receiver with the necessary instruments to carry out the liquidation of assets either autonomously or alternatively to delegate the sale to third parties, such as “specialised professionals” and “expert operators” in this specific field.
-
Do I only find goods deriving from judicial sales on Gobid.it ? No, you will also find goods that come from private liquidations and leasing companies. Whoever wishes to liquidate any asset of any sort can turn to the competences of Gobid.it.
-
What benefits does the participant/user be entitled to? The potential buyer will have the possibility of obtaining the goods at an extremely competitive and convenient price from home, avoiding the long hold-ups of a traditional auction sale.
-
What other types of sale can I find on Gobid.it? Sales on Gobid.it are subdivided into auctions and announcements. Announcements can be subdivided into: Notices- these are publications relating to judicial sales that do not imply participation in an online sale but that do often involve the physical and traditional auction procedure managed by appointed liquidation authorities according to modalities specified on the notice. Collection of Take- Over Bids or Expressions of Interest: these entail the possibility of sending a take-over bid or expression of interest for specific lots via specific forms that will be available online or sent upon request.
-
Where do I find all the categories of lots put on auction? The categories of lots can be accessed on the main menu page or from the top search editor both found on the homepage.
-
Where do all the lots on sale come from? Lots on sale mainly derive from insolvency proceedings but also from private liquidations and leasing companies.
-
How can I find the specific lot I am interested in on the website? You can type it in directly on the top search editor found on the homepage and then refine your search results or you can access the goods category and search within the category.
-
How can I be kept updated on the goods that I am interested in? First of all you can specify the categories that you are interested in during your registration or on MyGobid ‘interests ‘ page, if you already have your own account; in this way you will receive a newsletter based on your preferences. In order to be updated on the lots of your interest, you can also click on the icon ‘ remind me about this lot ‘ or ‘remind me about this auction sale’ found on relating pages.
-
Will lots pertaining to an expired auction sale still be available thereafter? Lots pertaining to an expired auction sale that have as yet not received any bids can be purchased out of the auction sale through a takeover bid at the last auction price plus a bid increment. On the other hand, goods that have received bids, may be subject to a bid increment of the order of at least 10% as compared to final auction clearing price , as pursuant to art. 107 L.F. paragraph 4 , always in accordance to the discretion of liquidation authorities of competence.

Where do I find the Terms and Conditions of Sale for the auction? General and specific conditions of sale can always be accessed by clicking on the relating buttons found on the auction sheet. They are otherwise accessible through the links found on each single lot sheet.
-
How do I register for an auction? Just click on the yellow button found on the auction sheet, agree to accept the conditions of sale after having carefully read them and confirm.
-
When I have registered for the auction am I entitled to more information? No, you have access to the same information just as any other unregistered user except where different indications have been placed under general terms and conditions of sale or as indicated on the auction page.
-
Why am I asked to accept the general and specific terms and conditions of sale? You are asked to accept them as both the auction participation process and the adjudication of one or more lots, shall comply with what expressly specified under the terms and conditions of sale, hence it is important that you carefully read them in order to be fully aware of how the whole procedure works.
-
Upon my registration, what do I do to participate in an auction ? You are asked to pay a security deposit required for the auction or for the lot of your interest. Should you pay by credit card, you will automatically be enabled to take part in the auction. Should you pay via bank remittance, you will need to send to info@gobid.it a copy of the bank receipt of the amount that has been deposited. You will be entitled to take part in the auction as soon as the amount has been received and you shall be informed via email. All bank remittances must be carried out well before the final deadline of the auction. For any further information, please refer to section ‘security deposit.’
-
Can I take part on behalf of another potential buyer (natural person) or company? Registering on the site means that you will take part and ‘win’ the lots that are on auction under your personal data. Should participation data differ from adjudication data, then shall the procedure competent authorities be called to intervene and give authorisation upon presentation of specific documents.
-
I have registered and paid the security deposit but I haven’t been enabled yet. Why? If you have carried out any steps properly and correctly, it is probable that we are checking to see whether your security deposit has been received or not. You will be enabled, as soon as we receive it .
-
I have received the email which enables me to participate in the auction, what do I do now to submit my bids? Make sure that you have logged in on the site and that you are on the lot sheet you have been enabled for. At the top right hand box you will see a button ‘submit your bid’ and all information relating to the lot. Clicking on the button you will see a summary page of your bid as well as any additional costs. You will confirm your bid by clicking on the button again. Remember that each bid submitted is intended to be an irrevocable and official commitment to buy.
-
I have been enabled but I still don’t see the ‘bid now’ button, why? It is likely that you are surfing on the site without having logged in your registration credentials.
-
What is meant by ‘static bid’? A static bid implies a fixed price bid including the running/current price plus at least a minimum increment required by the auction concerned.
-
What is meant by ‘proxy bid’ and how does it work? It is the maximum amount the user is willing to pay for the lot and represents a dynamic bid, which is hidden to other users. Once this initial bid has been entered, it will automatically generate automatic increments each time your bid has been surpassed until the proxy bid is reached. Bid increments will be automatic and will be based on the minimum values specified and aimed at surpassing any other bids made. Should the proxy bid be made by the highest bidder, then shall the running/current price not be modified by the proxy bid and no extra-time will thus be enabled.
-
What is meant by‘ basic starting price’ ? This is the initial price of each single lot which does not include any Buyer’s Premium, assistance costs and VAT (where applicable on the lot, the Buyer’s Premium and assistance costs). You cannot submit a bid at the basic starting price: you will need to make at least one increment . In this way the basic starting price will become the running/current price.
-
What is meant by ‘minimum bid increment’? The minimum bid is calculated as the sum of the lot current bid plus a pre-determined incremental amount (the minimum bid increment) in order to enter the bid.
-
What is meant by ‘reserve price’? It is the minimum price to be reached in order have the sale of the lot authorised. It can be either visible or hidden. When visible, it may be found on the box on the top right hand corner of the lot sheet. When hidden, you will only see the ‘reached’ or ‘not reached ’ item: in the former case it will mean that a basic lot starting price bid plus the minimum bid increment is already sufficient to authorise the adjudication of the lot; in the latter case, the potential adjudication has been submitted to the discretion of procedure authorities.
-
What is meant by ‘extra-time’ and how does it work? It is the auction extension time that has been granted for the presentation of further bids during the running of the auction. Should a winning bid be submitted 5 minutes before the end of an auction, then additional 5 minutes following the last bid will be granted for a further bid to be made. This will be repeated indefinitely, whenever a winning bid is received within the 5 minute extra-time , then additional 5 minutes following the last bid will be granted for a further bid to be made . Automatic increments in case of proxy bid shall also be considered as winning bids.
-
No further bids have been submitted on my lot: why has bidding not been closed? This is because extra-time does not regard individual lots but the entire auction. The sale will continue as long as other bids keep coming in within the last 5 minutes .
-
What is meant by ‘free bid’? This is a condition in the auction where the user is free to put forward any amount he/she wishes as long as it at least exceeds the minimum predefined bid increment.
-
What is meant by ‘multi-level auction’? This is a multi-phase auction where different sets of goods have been grouped together in different levels. Each level will have different security deposits and different deadlines. The sale of goods included in the various levels will be conducted in such a way as to give priority to upper level combinations than to lower level ones.
-
What is meant by the ‘buy now’ option? This option allows the user to purchase a specific lot before the end of the auction. The price to buy the lot immediately will be displayed as soon as at least one bid has been made.
-
What is meant by a complete lot? A complete lot (lot number 0) represents and includes all lots and their related combinations that have been put on sale on the auction. Winning a complete lot will entail for the user the purchase in bulk of all existing lots on the auction.
-
What will happen should bids be made on a complete lot? Should no offer be received on a complete lot then shall bidding be made on single lots and /or combinations. After the auction deadline the Procedure Bodies will dedice whether to award or not the complete lot depending on the values reached by single lots.
-
What is meant by ‘combination’? Combination means a set of lots that have been put on sale at a single basic starting price, and cannot be hence submitted to single individual bids.
-
How do I see if bids have been made on lots that I am interested in? Existing bids on a lot will appear as a number near a green palette on the lot webpage.
-
How do I find out whether mine are winning bids? Each time you bid, you shall be advised via email and directly on the lot page about the status of your bid.
-
What happens if I am the highest bidder? Should the reserve price be surpassed, you will receive the confirmation of a temporary awarding usually within 3 working days, where all the information and conditions for the settlement of payments will have been summarised.
-
What if I’m the highest bidder but the reserve price has not been reached? In this case the decision will be left to the discretion of procedure authorities.
-
What happens if I’m not the highest bidder? You have not ‘won’ any lot , and you will be refunded of your security deposit within 20 working-days without any interests applied.
-
How can I find out the prices of lots at an auction that has already ended? Prices of an auction that has already ended may be requested only when the user wishes to make a bid. Any such requests must be forwarded to info@gobid.it, specifying both the auction and the lot numbers.
-
Can I make a bid on expired and non-adjudicated auction lots? This is possible by requiring a specific form for the purchase of goods out-of-the- auction, thus bids can be made including the security deposit on the non-adjudicated lot price plus the minimum bid increment.
-
Can I make a bid on lots adjudicated at an auction? Whenever prescribed by law , it is possible by requesting a specific form for the presentation of the bid, including the security deposit, which shall surpass the winning price of at least 10% , as pursuant to art.107 L.F. paragraph 4. The bid can be subject to the discretion and judgment of procedure authorities.
-
- View goods
-
-
How do I get to view the goods on sale? You can click on ‘request a vision’ button found on the auction sheet, our logistics department will contact you promptly to arrange an appointment.
-
What does “viewed and liked ” mean? This entails that the sale of goods is carried out without any guarantee covering any possible defects/faults. Hence, it cannot be appealable in case of damages . Consequently, any existing said defects/faults, deformities or lack of quality in the goods sold shall not give rise to any refunds , indemnity charges or price-reductions. Please remember that goods collection and ownership transfer expenses will be borne by the buyer.
-
What do I risk not paying the adjudicated lots within the established deadline prescribed by the temporary adjudication confirmation ? Should payments not be settled within established deadlines, then shall the security deposit be withheld and the sale will be cancelled automatically. Subsequently, the sale will then be assigned to the second highest bidder.
-
